A Glasgow Companion, Herb Lester

I’ve been to many parts of Scotland over the years, as I have family up there, but I’ve still not made it to Glasgow. My cousin and an old friend have both repeatedly assured me that it’s a must visit destination, so Glasgow has been added to my travel wish list as a city break. I would probably take the train up and combine the trip with another visit to Edinburgh, one of my favourite cities.

Destination Guide: Glasgow is a helpful guide to the city by Stylist magazine that I came across yesterday. Things to do include trying out the city’s oldest chippie and ‘taking the subway for the wonderfully Seventies interiors‘. I also have an excellent Herb Lester map, A Glasgow Companion, with 50 quirky recommendations of places to visit and things to do including rummaging through the Barras weekend market stalls, visiting the magnificent Necropolis and enjoying a fry-up at the classic 1920s cafe Cafe D’Jaconelli.

Happy travels!
